2014 SOS LABOUR DAY CLASSIC WEEKEND UP NEXT

The Labour Day Classic Weekend is here! Two days of thrilling Sprint Car racing action at Brighton Speedway where the 2014 Southern Ontario Sprints Champion will be crowned!

Saturday August 30th
Saturday night will kick off the weekends action with round 10 of the Southern Ontario Sprints Championship. Glenn Styers is leading the points heading into the weekend. Looking to hold off Mitch Brown to become a 5 time Southern Ontario Sprints Champion. Brown swept the first 3 races before Styers broke the streak taking the 4th win of 6 SOS races at Brighton Speedway.

The Four Wide Design Ltd. “Dream come True� Dash will also be held Saturday Night. This is a race open to drivers that have never held a checkered flag in a sprint car and with crossing the finish line someones dream of winning their first race will come true.

Pit Gates open @ 4:00p.m., Drivers Meeting @ 5:45p.m., Sprint Car Hot Laps @ 6:30p.m., Racing @ 7:00p.m.

Sunday August 31st
The fun starts at 1pm on Sunday with a Tailgate party in the parking lot featuring a Race Car Show and Shine, fun for the kids, Dunk Tank, and a delicious Barbeque. Tickets for the Barbeque are $10 and can be purchased Saturday night at the souvenir booth. The meal includes pulled pork, corn, several salad choices, and a beverage.

Sunday night is the final points night for the 2014 Southern Ontario Sprints Championship with the 25 lap feature deciding who will wear the crown as 2014 Champion.

Sunday night is also Topless Night on the Oval! The Brighton Speedway Latemodel division will compete “topless� all night and the weekends races will be topped off with the RBM Carriers, Blacks Transport Non-Wing Sprint Car Dash for the Cash.. SOS rules apply except for wings and starting positions will be determined by draw.

NOTE:
Overnight camping is permitted for the weekend. Please follow guidelines and directions at the speedway.

Temporary SOS memberships are available for $20 for the first night, $30 for the second night.

MC3 tires will NOT be available at the track. Tires are available at Grisdale Racing.

Drivers are reminded that the early start time and sunset can be a factor on track in turn 3 during the heat races on Sunday.
